I Love All Clad and other quality cookware. Today, I am going to explore Swiss Diamond Cookware. People have been raving about it, hence, I am writing this Swiss Diamond Cookware Review. Here is the rub though. I haven’t actually used the cookware, so I have to go off of other reviews to write this one. I guess my motivation is to expose you to the fact that this very special collection of pots and pans exists. And I will leave it up to you whether you would like to explore it further or not.

Well, the hook or the unique selling proposition if you will, is that these pots and pans are coated with actual diamond dust and that is what gives them their special non stick properties. The word is that these diamond crystals which are fused to the pan, make them virtually non destructible. Whether that is true or not, I could not say but this is what I am hearing.

The Swiss Diamond pans are  pressure-cast in a  6mm-thick aluminum body.   The natural thermal characteristics of diamonds offer outstanding heat distribution. They also come with oven safe handles and the lids are made of tempered glass.

Makes Great Espresso At Home

We were excited to finally get our hands on the Nespresso D290 machine espresso maker. Nespresso
has created a hermetically sealed pods which contains the perfect amount of freshly roasted and ground coffee. This is nice because all the aromas are fresh and locked in until you actually unseal the pod, making for a really nice cup of coffee.

The espresso pods for the Nespresso D290 machine are a little pricey – They will cost about 60 cents per cup to make. But they do make an incredible cup of coffee every time without any guesswork and there is no waste of coffee grounds or beans.

We also loved the steam arm or frothing wand that the Nespresso D290 has. It has an attachment that will make your cappuccino automatically and it does a pretty good job, but I prefer to do it the old fashioned way – manually. It heats up the milk really well and it makes a great foam.

Features include an Automatic function – two back lit buttons for easy programming (small or large cup), a special steam nozzle with a Cappuccino/Cafe Latte function, and an electronic
sound and visual indicator that announces full level of used capsule container. It automatically cools
two minutes after last use of steam function or instantly by pressing the steam button. It features
19 bars of static pressure and is equipped with an electronic temperature regulation. Removable

In our opinion the  Nespresso D29Espresso machine   is great if you are a SERIOUS espresso drinker. We really liked this machine. Its price tag is not the cheapest (almost 500 dollars) so if you are more of a casual coffee enthusiast you may want to opt for something less expensive.

Rachel Ray Cookware

An unbiased review of Rachel Ray cookware.
She is everywhere. Once she was an obscure TV chef on the Food Network. Now she is a National superstar. She has a daily, nationally syndicated talk show, endorsement deals, and a line of products with her name on them that goes on and on and on.

One of her best selling products is Rachel Ray Cookware. Rachel Ray has a signature line of pots and pans that are non stick and come in a variety of colors. So after seeing these pans everywhere, I just had to take them for a spin.
The set I looked at was the 10 piece hard anodized collection which sells for roughly $200.00.

The set includes the following items:
# 1.5-qt. Covered Saucepan
# 3-qt. Covered Saucepan
# 6-qt. Covered Stockpot
# 8-in. Open French Skillet
# 10-in. Open French Skillet
# 3-qt. Covered Saute

I used the cookware for several recipes including making omelets. pasta sauce, a pot of soup and sauted vegetables.
I have to say that although I am not a bug Rachel Ray fan in the kitchen, her Rachel Ray Cookware does over deliver.At first glance, the pans seem very well made, heavy and sturdy.
I found that The Rachel Ray Cookware conducts heat very well. It offers a very balanced heat. And the pans really are a snap to clean. The non-stick surface is truly non stick. I had no problem simply wiping the pans clean. The omelet I made with Rachel Ray Cookware saute pan was very easy to flip and came out perfect.
The one down side I would have to say is that the pans are NOT dishwasher safe. But that is a very minor consideration considering they are really very easily cleaned by hand.
Two other nice features are the rubber handles which stay cool to the touch as well as the see through lids.
All in all I would say that for Two hundred dollars The Rachel Ray Cookware set is a very good buy and you should get a good deal of use out of them.  The only problem I would have with them is having my friends see me cook with pans that say Rachel Ray on them — but that is a different story.
